A quick video of a fine product that I can strongly endorse: Automatic gate openers from www. turnstylegates.com I’ve used a set of these for over two years now for my driveway gate. I’ve been very impressed with the product and the support from the company so I decided to buy another set and use them to turn my mom’s shed into a functional garage. I didn’t think there was enough room to mount an overhead door so I rigged these up. They have a very robust motor contained within each steel post (painted white in this video). The motors are battery powered, and the batteries are kept charged via a solar panel. I also purchased an automatic lock from the same company but have yet to install it. The grey/white panel in the garage houses the batteries, main control circuit board, and wireless receiver. The light in the video is simply a low-voltage landscape light, which is also powered and controlled by the panel. The gates turned out to be fairly heavy, so I’m considering a wheel assembly at the bottom of each gate to prevent door sag and strain on the eighty year old shed. Anyway, I thought this turned out pretty nice so I decided to share it.
